Staff Council Committee

About

The staff council is an advisory body in an educational institution to help in smooth functioning of the college in academic and all other matters of the college and in the maintenance of discipline. The entire teaching faculty and the librarian are the members of the council. The principal selects a staff secretary in agreement with the members. The secretary helps hold the council meetings in consultation with the principal as and when required. The secretary maintains record of the minutes of every meeting duly signed by her/him. The duties are assigned to the staff council by the principal by forming various committees, clubs and societies related to academics, extra-curricular activities and administrative work of the college during an academic session. The council members discuss and offer suggestions on different matters for taking important decisions. The staff council also arranges activities like farewell functions, picnics etc. for the staff. The members are supposed to sign in a register to mark their presence at the time of attending the meeting. Important decisions related to students and college welfare are taken in the staff council meetings post official messages to minimize the use of paper and for faster communication.

Aims and objectives

• There shall be functional Staff Council in Colleges.
• All the members of the teaching staff, librarian, and office staffs shall constitute the Staff Council.
• It is mandatory to protect the interests of teachers.
• It is very important to solve the financial problems of teachers
• It is also appropriate to take steps towards maintaining mutual harmony by emphasizing on maintaining mutual harmony between teachers and students in the college. So that a cordial relationship is maintained between teachers and students.
• It should be considered that there should not be any kind of discrimination among teachers, which will always help in creating an environment of harmony.
• Teachers are always impartial in college work.
• Teachers perform their fundamental duties.
• Teachers also discuss among themselves for moral development.
• Teachers always perform their tasks with a question mind. So that the educational work gets completed on time.

Function of Committee

• Arrange for extra-curricular activities for all members of staff.
• Ensure favorable working environment for members of staff.
• Coordinate compassionate fund for the members of staff.
• Arrange for regular casual meetings for all.
• Mentor and orientate junior members of staff.
• Organize the annual event in which awards and accomplishments of college members are announced.
• Ensure the college has staff coffee room for all members of college.
• Seed money for staff development increasing.
• Develop the staff welfare fund.
• Ensure the staff facility such as leave, travel etc.

Committee Composition
