Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

About the Committee

In pursuance to the UGC/ Supreme Court guidelines, the B.M.C.E College, Motihari has constituted an Internal Complaints Committee for gender sensitization and handling complaints against sexual harassment. B.M.C.E is a coeducational institution providing equal opportunities to all. There is pleasant work culture and atmosphere between all genders. It is formed according to the POSH ACT-Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act of 2013, 9th December 2013. (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal). The POSH Act demanded that an ICC be made at all workplaces to redress sexual harassment cases. It is also mentioned in the University Grants Commission (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal of sexual harassment of women employees and students in higher educational institutions) Regulations, 2015- 2nd May 2016. The committee addresses complaints such as discriminatory behaviour and sexual harassment lodged by any member of the college which he or she observes or become aware of. The committee also advices the authority to take necessary remedial actions including punishment against the offender. Any student who wishes to file a complaint can contact any member of the ICC committee in the college by giving application or drop written complaint in complaint / suggestion box which is located in ground floor.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

  • To prevent any sexual harassment against any gender within the college premises.
  • To prevent gender discrimination amongst the student community and staff by promoting gender amity.
  • To conduct and educate the college community through periodical awareness programs on gender sensitization and gender parity.
  • To understand the differences between the genders and create a conducive environment for all.
  • To provide a conducive environment and pleasant atmosphere for all within the fold.
  • To intervene and undertake immediate and stringent action against any form of harassment cases within the college premises. Can file the complaint online.

  • To prevent discrimination and sexual harassment against girls by promoting gender amity among students and employees
  • To conduct periodical programmes on women empowerment.
